
National-level achievements were recorded by AL-YA’LU students. In November 2024, the team from AL-YA’LU Superior Junior High School won 2nd Place Nationally in the KIHAJAR STEM competition organized by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) of Indonesia.
The champions were Banon Akbar, Mangku Praja Pramana, and Sapta Wijaya Syakti, with their supervising teacher, Ms. Syifa Masna Raisalah, S.Sos., M.Pd.
During the grand final stage of the multi-level competition, which was participated by thousands of contestants across Indonesia, the student team created a STEM project aligned with the theme. This student team sought to solve the problem of cooking rice in school restaurants/canteens with their project titled Panah Tapis (Efficient Rice Cooker: Emission-Free, Energy-Saving). Following a rigorous judging process, the AL-YA’LU team finally secured 2nd Place Nationally.
KIHAJAR STEM 2024 is a national competition organized by Kemendikdasmen. This event aims to develop critical, creative, and collaborative thinking skills through STEM-based projects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The competition consists of four stages: basic, intermediate, advanced, and final. Participants who pass will compete to become the best team representing their respective provinces. KIHAJAR STEM also supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum by utilizing digital technology.
