One student from AL-YA’LU Superior Elementary School in Malang City, Adam Karunia Ilahi, who is currently in the 6th grade, successfully contributed 1 gold medal in the Science (IPA) field at the 2025 OSN event.

APPRECIATION: The Head of Elementary and Secondary Education Development, Muflikh Adhim, SE., MM, accompanied by the Headmaster of AL-YA’LU Superior Elementary School, Purnomosidi, S.Pd., M.Si, presented an award to Adam Karunia Ilahi, the gold medalist winner in the 2025 National Science Olympiad (OSN) for Primary School Science
“The Principal of AL-YA’LU Superior Elementary School, Purnomosidi, expressed his gratitude for the achievement. According to him, this success is the result of the ‘champion ecosystem’ that the school environment has continuously built.
‘Firstly, we are certainly grateful, because this OSN is one of the most prestigious academic competitions organized by the Ministry. At AL-YA’LU itself, we have won prizes in the fields of Science and Mathematics since 2021, and in 2022 we also won Gold and Silver Medals for Science and Mathematics. After passing the pandemic period, Alhamdulillah, we are able to obtain a medal again in 2025,’ stated Purnomo.
He said that the school has, from the beginning, integrated the national curriculum with olympic subjects and the international curriculum. This approach helps students become accustomed to various academic competitions.
‘At AL-YA’LU, support comes not only from the curriculum side but also from intensive coaching by internal teachers and collaboration with parents. In addition, the students also support each other, so this champion ecosystem is truly formed,’ he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of Basic Education Development for the Malang City Education and Culture Office, Muflikh Adim, mentioned that this year’s OSN achievement is extraordinary. He acknowledged that the dominance of private schools in this year’s OSN was quite prominent. According to him, this is influenced by various factors, ranging from full parental support, the readiness of coaching teachers, to the school foundation’s policy in regulating learning strategies.
‘Parental support is very crucial, as is having coaching teachers who are able to guide students according to their potential,’ he said.
AL-YA’LU Superior Elementary School has built a positive culture by instilling a spirit of healthy competition, hard work, and discipline. Through this approach, the school strives for achievement to become a part of the students’ character.
‘We strive to create a learning environment that supports the birth of champions,’ said the Headmaster of AL-YA’LU Superior Elementary School.
‘If this positive ecosystem is formed, negative things will be eliminated by themselves. The children are motivated to continue achieving,’ he added.
Academically, AL-YA’LU Superior Elementary School implements a national plus curriculum enriched with Olympiad subjects and an international curriculum.
Classroom learning is designed to help students become accustomed to critical and analytical thinking patterns, aligning with the needs of academic competitions at the national and global levels.
